My dear Godbrother Jayapataka Maharaja,

Please accept my most humble obeisances on this auspicious day of your appearance.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.!

Again I have the opportunity of appreciating my senior godbrother, who has done so much to push on the mission of Mahaprabhu and Srila Prabhupada. I have always admired your unbreakable determination to do more and more service, at the expense of your own personal well-being. Also, I have never seen anyone more concerned that we follow the procedures and instructions laid down by Srila Prabhupada in conducting the GBC for serving and maintaining ISKCON.

Another of your multi-accomplishments is your reviving Nama-hatta, and giving it a new face and dimension in the form of bhakti-vriksa, which is now a standard and integral part of our ISKCON preaching. Such accomplishments are indications of your undaunted faith and dedication to Srila Prabhupada, to preaching (which pleased him so much), and also care for the vaisnavas. As Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura and Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Thakura have both said, there are 3 essential efforts that distinguish one as a sincere vaisnava, Vaisnava-seva (serving the vaisnavas), nama ruci (having a taste for chanting and spreading the holy name) and jive daya (feeling compassion for the living entities). I see that these are the major motivating factors in your actions and life.

You have encountered serious obstacles in your health condition, yet you remain fully resolved to not let that, which would cause most devotees to retire, stop your service. May you have many more birthdays to continue your wonderful service!
