My dear Jayapataka Swami Maharaja,
Please accept my prostrated obeisances at your lotus feet. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. And all glories to your empowered service to him. You are such a vital force and inspiration in all of our lives--in good health or otherwise. You exemplify Srila Bhakltivinoda Thakura's words,
sampade vipade, jivane-marane
day mama gela, tuwa o-pada barane
“In good fortune or in bad, in life or at death, all my difficulties have disappeared by choosing those feet of Yours [Krsna's] as my only shelter.”
And you also teach us by your example, sukhe duhkhe bhulo na'ko, vadane hari-nam koro re: “Do not forget this chanting, whether you are in a happy condition or a distressful one. Just fill your lips with hari-nama.”
You are always blissful in Krsna consciousness--and kind and compassionate to all devotees and living beings.
I recently received a letter from a gurukula student in Mayapur: “A few days ago we went for Navadvipa Mandala Parikrama, because Jayapataka Swami Maharaja sponsored all the gurukula boys for parikrama. This was my first time on parikrama, and it was amazing. Every day I got the chance to chant more than 16 rounds--25, 30 every day. On parikrama, we did hari-nama sankirtana, heard the pastimes of the places, and saw dramas. Twice I got the chance to lead kirtana. I love hari-nama.”
Through just one magnanimous gesture, you have done so much good. And this is but one drop from the ocean of your merciful activities.
I pray to follow your example life after life.
Hare Krsna.
Your eternal servant,
Giriraj Swami.
